FDA consumer guidance
The U.S. FDA recommends that consumers avoid products containing 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). The agency says there are no 7-OH products it has found safe and effective for any use, and 7-OH is not FDA-approved for medical use.
Reported serious effects
The FDA lists reports associated with 7-OH products that include addiction, anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal distress, insomnia, seizures, and withdrawal symptoms. This list is not a diagnosis or a complete medical guide.
If someone may be in immediate danger
If someone is unresponsive, call 911 immediately. In the United States, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 for suspected poisoning.
